Colby MC – Google

I've loved this show since I first saw it on my local PBS affiliate in North Mississippi over 20 years ago. It's such a warm show with such believable characters. I subscribed to Britbox just so I could watch it anytime. Judi Dench and Geoffrey Palmer are teffic and the supporting cast are just tremendous. I was honestly sad when I saw Geoffrey Palmer had passed away just a short time ago. It was almost like losing a family member. If you need something light-hearted, uplifting and romantic. Give it a try. You won't be disappointed.

A line from the film: “You ever wish you would die?” Response:“It’s foolish to ask for luxuries in times like these.” This is an amazing film. The line I posted, however, is to make you wary of what you're in for. Hope has no place here. This movie doesn't hold your hand but rather drops you head-first into the sewage. This is what humanity is capable of when the chips are down. An amazing film that is brilliantly acted down to the most brief of roles. I agree with another reviewer who warned that if you're easily depressed or have suffered a personal loss. You maybe should view this at another time or perhaps not at all. Abandon all hope ye who enter here...and read the book as well.

This show grew on me. It's not a uproarious laughter kind of comedy. It's more subtle. I honestly find it relaxing. It's a perfect Sunday evening show for me. The scenery is gorgeous and the actors are great. John Cleese is a legend. If you're looking for something that is going to make you crack a rib laughing. This ain't it. If you're looking for a comfort comedy that keeps the subject matter light and gives you soft chuckles throughout. Look no further.
