The film is absolutely revolutionary, no doubt about that. I was trying so hard not to cry during the movie. But what bothers me is that, (some) people don't really care or even if they do, they don't want to do anything about it. I watched Karnan in Maayajaal Multiplex ECR, and fortunately enough, a group of young boys (around my age) were sitting behind me and they had so much to mock about the film during the movie. I was first extremely annoyed by that but as time went on, I started to realise people's mindset is as such and not much will change. A father, who was sitting in front of me, told his son that they should have went to watch Godzilla vs Kong instead of Karnan, after the movie ended. Karnan is loud in it's silent symbolism and a rebellion for even today even though it is set in 1997. Mari Selvaraj and his gem of a team aced in delivering a raw yet real message through a great cinematic orchestra. I want to thank them for that. And I wish to hug Dhanush if I meet him one day and just say "Neenga ivalo nalla padangal naduchu kuduthathuku romba nandri, sir!"
