The producers have devised a new exercise in tedium. Experience should show that players and managers very rarely have anything original to say pre-match but the programme perseveres with dreary interviews nonetheless. Replacing Jeff Stelling is impossible but, while his replacement is undoubtably a pleasant fellow, the absence of charisma has a draining effect on a generally uninspiring panel, Paul Merton excepted.
