I have to go to sleep now however I feel like I need to write something about this show after the first 2 episodes. I hadn't seen any reviews before watching but the trailer seemed interesting. Episode 1 captured me immediately and I have to say that young Elizabeth is such a charming character. But into episode 2 with Elizabeth slightly older her complexities and relatable human issues (as well as unrelatable brilliance) after fantastic to watch. Already its a teen/family/sporting/redemption drama. The mum, Elizabeth, the supporting cast I am literally blown away and if it wasn't for sleeping twin babies in the other room and work tomorrow I would watch the whole lot. I often wonder why I keep my Netflix subscription (watching its always sunny for the 12rh time might be something to do with it) but shows like the Queen Gambit are original, interesting and superbly realised that it justifies that monthly fee. I have no idea how this will end but if you're on the fence I implore you to check this out and join me on the journey to this cracking series finale.

Without doubt the greatest sitcom you can go ahead an watch right now. If you're in the UK it's one of the biggest reasons to get Netflix if you don't yet. The gang are the most dynamic group committed to TV. Frank, Dee, Dennis, Mac and yes even that giant bird Dee all stand out as amazing characters and never just seem part of the fold. This is a show where you don't need to feel guilt for all of the bad stuff they happens to your protagonists because more often than not they deserve it. They're horrible, selfish, crass dowright gross but brilliant characters. Beware, if you're easilly offended this isn't for you. If you want to laugh until your belly hurts then this is the number one show on TV. Just renewed for 4 more seasons, yes please. Also as its Christmas do yourself a favour and watch the Christmas special. The elf musical stop motion musical number will make you feel all kinds of festive 😂

SPOILERS: As a fan of Dead Man's Shoes and Kill List this was right up my ally. It's gritty, it's violent, it's very well acted and presented and most of all it really sticks with you. I hate to say "wait for the twist" but I really didn't expect where this film ends up. You think you're watching a film set in a genre with rules and by the end your scratching your head wondering how what just got pulled on you was done but pleasantly surprised with the ride and end result. Probably the best gangster come horror come supernatural movie you could wish for.
