A fantastically deep, quietly disturbing commentary on human existence. Presented in the void of space and moving at “99% the speed of light”, the film is a metaphor for the coldness and isolation we have thrust ourselves into in the modern digital age. We are moving so fast from the connectedness of the past that we may as well be traveling the speed of light - the past fades 200 years for our characters’ 13. There is a lot that can be said about the symbolism that makes up the bulk of this film. It is not for simple, literal minds to enjoy.
