Excellent movie. I purposely didn’t watch any trailers and ignored the marketing ‘5 star reviews’ prior to watching this. Didn’t even realize it was Nicholas cage until I got home tbh!
The movie was shot beautifully and the score was simple and didn’t create high-volume jump scares. Honestly, I only jumped one and a half times.
The film takes you on a journey, where everything that appears strange or random is eventually explained through reading between the lines. It’s not a ‘no brainer’ horror film with gore and monsters. It’s an excellent true crime-like, suspenseful, satanic work of art. You must go in with an open mind, no expectations, and be ready to solve the case. It’s really a fantastic film!
I didn’t leave feeling scared, but I think the eerie concepts will linger with me for some time!
