The author shared his war years in an aircraft most Navy pilots today didnt even know the Navy flew: the B-24 redesignated a PB4Y-1. This land based aircraft had an amazing record against the Japanese fleet. Flown and crewed by even more amazing men. The author went on to have a Naval career that brought the largest twin engine jet aircraft ever to land on aircraft carriers. Just wish he had written books about the other chapters in his over 19000 flight hours of flying.
