This was the first book I have ever read which explained the Cuban side of their revolution and the subsequent decades long war waged by the American government to discredit Cuba's legitimate right to self determination. It made me question everything I thought I knew about Cuba and made me realise that I had only been told one story. And I believed that story my whole life. Cuba is far from perfect, but they achieved a great many of the goals they set to help improve the lives of the people.I commend Rosa Jordan for writing a truthful account of her many travels to Cuba and for shedding a light that many powerful groups would prefer be kept dark.
