This game was deserving of all the hype. The sky islands are beautiful, the caves are eerie, and the abilities are incredible. There’s more enemy variety, another incredible story, many new items, new armor, and much more…
The frame rate can be choppy at times, but that’s to be expected when playing a game on an underpowered device such as the Switch. It never gets too bad though, so this shouldn’t be a deterrent to anyone playing the game, just a minor annoyance.
The Ultrahand (building) mechanic has been under fire a little, as some people think it’s too tedious to create anything with it. To those people, I say play on! Later on, you’ll get an upgrade for this ability that lets you essentially “save” creations to use later.
This is really an experience on par with Breath of the Wild. While I wouldn’t say it necessarily surpasses BotW, I can say with certainty that this is a fantastic game.
I won’t spoil the story for you, but I will say that it’s formatted basically the same way as Breath of the Wild’s story: various points where you experience flashbacks/memories, or whatever you want to call them.
Obviously, with this review being made only a day after launch, I have not yet beaten the game. But I’d bet good money that the endgame is just as solid as BotW’s!
5/5. I highly recommend you play this!
