I loved this book. I finished it in 3 days. So much was like she was writing about my life, the relationship with her mom and brother, was like mine with my mom and sister. Going to see things that most black didn't go to see the Christmas windows in the department stores. My family after eating Thanksgiving dinner that night we would drive to downtown DC and walk and see all the Christmas windows, also having to tell my mom to fix her face. Chapter 14 made me cry, it was what I went through. My mom passed away in 2021 and my sister in 2022. Thank you Whoopi for writing this book.
