My gosh!!! THIS Kelvin Harrison jr’s voice is SUBLIME!! ❤️😊💖 And WHY oh WHY has Tracey Ellis Ross not been making records all this time?! She’s fantastic!! ❤️❤️❤️ She’s been hiding all her singing talent behind her comedic acting abilities, keeping it on the down low, but the girl DID inherit her mama Diana Ross’s singing chops after all!! 👏👏👏👏👏👏 Dare I say I actually like the tone of her voice MORE?!!! I’m just blown away… so happy I finally got around to seeing this film. Dakota Johnson does a great job as the personal assistant to her singing idol, the already famous singer Grace Davis (Ross’s character) while dreaming of producing an album for her and bringing her new glory. During her off hours, she’s tinkering with the sound of her famous boss’s songs but getting no respect. Needing some real experience under her belt, she happens upon a completely unknown artist with real potential (played by Kelvin Harrison jr) and she begins moonlighting as his music producer. Her producing talents bring out the best in his sultry smooth vocals, and together, magic happens in and out of the studio. Burning the candle at both ends, she’s still aiming to prove herself to her idol boss as well, but the best laid plans don’t always go the way you want them to. Just go with the flow… and stick with it. ❤️
