My husband and I saw this film as part of the Saatchi Gallery's exhibit of JR. JR has a beautiful balance of heart and mind—there were points where I laughed at the portraits and cried at the gross inequity between peoples from across the world.
The Saatchi had so many beautiful murals and so many films—it is really easy to get lost in time because of what JR has done with his Art to draw attention to the superficial trappings of race and media and ciscumstance.
To see the dancers of NYCB and Lil Buck's participation made me so proud that American artists are participating in making the uncomfortable truth of those who have been born on the right side of the tracks vs. those who weren't.
His Art didn't stop at a Campbell's Soup can, his Art tries to show what Art could do to enlighten.
