This book reveal the theoretical explaination about the complex soil settlement behaviour which cannot be explain by the effective stress concept of Terzaghi (1956). These are like settlement when GWT rises, massive settlement near saturation and bigger inundation settlement under lower vertical loading. All these settlement behaviour is occuring under effective stress decrease and this contradict the effective stress concept of Terzaghi. Most important of all this concept produce excellent prediction of soil stress-strain behaviour at any depth below the ground. In addition by this concept settlement can be predicted base triaxial test data. This is infact the only very comprehensive soil settlement theoretical model at this point of time. This book reveal a total revamp of the basic concept of soil mechanics.
