If you like dark souls and bloodborne you might be disappointed. Elden ring is basically an open world ds 3, but with less charm. I would say I got many hours of enjoyment but the re use of enemies, vast empty areas to traverse and the near impossible questlines to follow (based on how big the area of the game is) has eventually left me with a feeling of boredom and despise. I hate that this game has put me off future want for more souls like games (exept bloodborne, it will take a bit more to kill you baby). It is not just what everybody is pointing out when it comes to critique of the game as some of the few I mentioned. But for me this game lacks the “soul” that soulsborne is famous for. You are going to get many hours of enjoyment out of the game but be aware that you also might get fatigued and disinterested. And i would argue that when you stop caring about the game, the game is ultimately dead. I wish from software would have put quality instead of quantity as their nr 1 goal. The most positive that I can take from this game is that everything has come full circle. Elden ring has truly become what we all must face. A husk of our former selves, a hollow.
