It’s a history that has been suppressed. The total disregard of the first peoples, the indeterminate slaughter, the belief and actions of colonizers and the federal government that indigenous people had no rights, no established treaties, that white people were bound to respect, taking back land that treaties guaranteed, taking children from families and put in federally established and Christian supported schools, another level of extermination, left me bereft… that people could do this to other humans… So many correlations to that of black enslaved people. The difference: the goal was to exterminate indigenous people; enslaved blacks were needed to meet the greed of their overseers. A must read!!!!
