The rings of power is visually brilliant for a television show, it has solid acting and a good musical score. I really wanted to love this show as I'm a huge silmarillion fan having read all Tolkens books countless times but there are some major issues. Firstly I haven't found a single character either relatable or likeable and they've introduced far too many people at once so it feels somewhat lacklustre. It feels as it would be a slow burner but slow burners usually hook you with slight intrigue where as this so far has no hook. I understand every real tolken fans anger at the complete disregard for tokens lore but as I understand Amazon only bought rights for a very small section of the franchise so it will be different. We're only two episodes in but so far it feels like a second rate fantasy series that has great visuals and solid acting that unfortunately is backed up with horrid dialogue and no direction. I truly hope it gets better without holding out to much.
