Chris Gunn (Metrosonus)

There's nothing going on with this show other than people being selfish, petty and mean. What could be interesting story lines are never explored and the characters never grow or develop. I quit at the beginning of season five. No clue how y'all are giving this such high ratings.

I feel like I've already seen this movie. Literally rips off scenes from terminator 2, demolition man, the expanse... However it's mostly ripping off one of the plots from West world. You may want to watch that if you didn't understand the ending. Roberta Williams!! Bwahaha I know I'm old getting that reference. That's all this movie is. References upon references. It feels like nothing knew. Pulls on every idea in the genre. You may find it cool, or not.

Aside from the shoe horned in jokes that made the movie feel like it was over dependant on fan service to keep it running, there wasn't much to it. The over the last decade, the problems faced were too huge in scope and this movie just serves as a transition to narrow the focus now that the avengers have been put to rest and it's just too hard to maintain stories about narrowly avoiding the apocalypse. It never sat well with me how most of the previous movie villains died; I felt like that was somewhat disingenuous to the source material. So at least the movie did have something redemptive about it. Other than that, I found it pretty lacking.

All of the reviews here read like star wars reviews "we don't care what it is, we just want MORE!". The problem with the movie is that it's no better or worse than anything else I've seen out there recently and that's pretty sad. Yes it feels different because it's Ghostbusters, but is it really different? No. Sure it's enjoyable, but that's the most you can expect these days. There's no highs, no lows or tension. Things happen and people don't even react. Nothing is explained.. just a bunch of stuff happens. References! Ghost busters! More!! It's a fun movie, but if you really want something that fist pumps for your childhood, this isn't it.

I wanted to like it.. it started off strong, suspenseful and interesting, but it's getting tiring, more obtuse and deriviative with each episode. What do you expect from a show that so blatantly rips off the westworld theme and nearly every hans zimmer sound track?
