This book intrigued my from the very first paragraph. It’s depressing in that the world has become desolate & desperate in an effort for survival. Disturbing in the fact that what’s left of mankind is reduced to cannibalism and whatever it takes to survive, with no concern of the people that the “bad guys” will do to exist. Dark, yet enlightening. You can envision what once was and what the bleak landscape now holds for the main characters. Uplifting if you can call it that in the end. There are “good guys” out there. I don’t want it to end , at least not in the way it did.
