Veer Savarkar... WOW!
I had been really fond of Randeep Hooda already but this movie cemented him as my favourite actor. After continuously rewatching the trailer and viewing every interview he did leading up to the release, my kids decided to get a Zee5 subscription to watch Veer Savarkar. Words cannot describe how glad I am we did. This movie is the most powerful representation of Veer Savarkar ji, his associates' sacrifices, and the time period of the British raj. Such a well needed slap on those ignorant minds who have been singing songs for so many years(including me for so long) saying that Ahinsa brought us freedom. This is by far the most beautiful piece of art perfected with dedication, determination and devotion. I am so sure this movie will continue to impact & inspire audiences for generations to come. There wasn't even a single scene where the actor tried to portray himself a "cool guy" unlike so many other historical films that have come out in recent years. Those silent scenes showing the young patriots walking towards the noose without uttering a single word were so poetic, proving that good direction is all that is needed. Too many historical movies had been watered down by cheesy dialogue, unnecessary slow-mo or over the top dramatic music that made those movies boarder line unwatchable. Those scenes highlighting the final moments of the patriots were perhaps the highest tributes to the bravery of all those shaheeds!!!
I'm so excited for more of Randeep Hooda's projects to come, historical or not. Bollywood needs dedicated actors, directors & producers like him to continue to raise the bar! 🏆🇮🇳💐
