This book reminds me of the difficulties and conflicts Charles Darwin had with his wife. More importantly it depicts the evolution of American socialist thought in the early twentieth century. It speaks to the actual spirit and intent of unionization as well as the misconceptions and backlashes to the movement. Debs is fleshed out as a very sensitive and thoughtful human being. It is historically accurate and a must read in these divisive times.

Wonderfully creative, Hirst has fleshed out his own mythological story with his own art. It shows the way religions are created and how art, music and architecture fulfill the myth putting flesh on the bones of man's imagination.
