The book is one of poverty existing in a land of the rich. While this can relate to the area the book takes place, it can also correlate to colleges and how many students have to take out loans or get scholarships to be able to attend because they can not afford it and are in or borderline poverty. The issue is, as a professor she also forces students to buy this book(inflating sales and making her profit directly from her students taking her class) and forcing a student to drop the class because she called them entitled and ballsy and mocking her because she suggested alternatives for people who can not afford it (it's a course on homelessness and poverty, why would you force someone to buy your book). End of the line, the author only wants to profit off the poor and force people to buy her book. She clearly wants to profit off homelessness and poverty, and does not intend to actually help anyone.
