Susan Bovee

I thought this film was a tour de force. The acting was wonderful, the story-telling was exceptionally well handled, and the contradictions and subtleties of Miller’s character were teased out in a careful and insightful manner. The gorgeous cinematography was icing on the cake. The care and nuance that Kate Winslet brought to the role were emblematic of her reign as the leading film actress of her generation. It was a thrill to watch this great achievement unfold.
