I was semi hype for this cause i didnt know what to expect but it honestly was an interesting slow decline into disappointment. Aang didnt feel like aang, he was more serious and mature than goofy/child like. He hardly made any growth let alone able to water bend at all which was a really weird turn. Most of the characters were very one note? Sokka was cringe instead of his goofy/jokey. Like at least there was humor there instead of what was given in the adaptation. Sokka mostly gave what the actor in the firebending play portrayed him as, Katara barely gave anything, Azula who didnt need to be there was shown dealing with her issues living upto her fathers expectations which was an interesting take but even so she gave mostly daddy issues, weak, emotional vs. the true Azula we know from the series. Zuko was pretty spot on, Iroh not so much, he felt kinda one note.
There was no character development for any of the characters, everything was far too rushed. Water bending wasnt shown much and when it did it looked bad and it was kinda obvious that they wanted to put in more hand to hand fighting to make up for less bending.
Merging of events like Omashu/Western air temple and meeting Jet was interesting but rushed. Heibi spirit/ Meeting Roku/ Visiting the fire temple/ Koh/ Fog of Lost Souls/June and Nyla tracking Aang was interesting but even more so rushed.
Katara vs. Paku was absolutely awful, gave a fraction of the energy that was involved in that fight, not to mention they tried to follow the choreography exact and made it look worse.
Not at all excited for next season 😞
