While basketball is used as the backdrop for the movie, Coach Carter really isn't about basketball. The real heart of the movie is in the way Coach Carter begins to turn the lives around of the players on his basketball team by showing them that someone actually cares about what happens to them after high school. overall a fantastic movie to watch

Great feel good Family film. Kevin James is always Kevin James but does a pretty good version of Sean Payton. I know the premise of the storyline is true but wonder how much of the script holds the same. Either way, it's an hour and an half that's not wasted spending it with the kids. Good lessons offered and not a bad perception of youth football in the region (as one who spent 4 years doing the same and also went home with a hard won 2nd place Championship trophy but proud of some fine young men!)
