I like many others, was looking forward to seeing this film but gave up after 30 mins. I found it lacking in many areas - Judi Dench looked too old for her husband and her accent was slipping at times. I can't believe there were Singh newsagents there in the late 60s, the set looked like a set, just freshly built at Shepperton and not authentic and I found the Van Morrison's greatest hits littered through the film irritating and unnecessary. Above all, the script was poor. Oh well, I guess I wanted to see it due to the hype and awards, it has taught me to watch previews in the future!
