A brilliant film and one of the best character studies in cinematic history. Roger Livery and Antonio Fallbrook were incredible. Too bad the film and the stars weren't considered for Oscars. One gets a sense of wartime over nearly half a century--the Boer War, WWI and WWII and how a young officer grows and matures along with his country.
