The CGI was awful, and the plot was hamstrung by cultural fragilities making certain plot points nonsensical.

This movie is sexist to the core. I'm all for making sure my daughters are empowered and have equality in society—but I also have sons, and I want them to feel confident and equal as well. There is no way I would let my kids (especially my boys) sit through this toxic nonsense. It makes no business sense for Disney to go out of its way to alienate families containing cis-gender heterosexual males. We just canceled our Disney+ membership. With more "inclusive" theme park owning companies, there is absolutely no reason for us to go back to Disney parks.

You shouldn't go out of your way to make something historically inaccurate and then promote it as a documentary.

Painfully Disappointed. If this wasn’t “Lord of the Rings” I couldn’t see anyone finishing the pilot. It is tediously sloooooow and completely rests on the laurels of the previous works without trying to entertain you or make the characters endearing. This is IRONIC because it tramples the essence established in prior books and movies by sloppily trying to pander to bigoted but vocal snowflakes. Just ONE example: Elven male warriors were always phenomenal fighters. The elven males in this show are weak, pathetic, and afraid of their own shadows. This is sloppily done to make the female lead look dominant considering she has poor communication and leadership skills. I would have loved to see her as a skilled leader and so exceptionally talented as a warrior that she could even beat Legolas, but tearing down one of the most likable groups of characters in a franchise as a way of checking the box for “strong female character” is just lazy.
