Paper Girls is one of my favourite independent comics of the last decade, the others being Black Science and Defender. This is a good TV adaption of some very difficult material to translate to a bigger audience. My only gripe is the lack of ugly mutant underground characters—their hideousness in the comics made them more endearing than the pretty boy underground characters. That was a missed opportunity. Hopefully, Amazon increases the budget and we see a more stylized season 2.
