Tim Burton's Wednesday series sets a flourishing vibe of comically dark fantasy - a vibe that Tim Burton and the original Wednesday series has in common.
The show also boasts captivating performances by some of the leading actors. The joy of watching lovable characters painting the screen is probably the greatest entertainment this show presents.
Although these delights were enough to enchant the world, these are the only charms the show has to give.
The plot of season 1 is disappointing, to say the least. As the plot progresses to move on from indulging in its dear characters to focus on its crime-solving genre, it fails to achieve either.
The plot is unsuccessful in giving proper depth to its characters or giving the catharsis of cleverly solving an intricate, complex mystery.
This flaw leaves our beloved Wednesday to be observed as a pompous, egocentric character who aggressively accuses people with her slightest suspicion then is never seen to apologize when her suspicion turns out to be false.
Overall, season 1 of Tim Burton's Wednesday is a delightful character show with lovely but mostly shallow characters who act through a heavily punctured plot.
Hopefully, Wednesday and her companions will get the plot they deserve in season 2.
