It's not going to win an academy award, but it was enjoyable. Shark and zombie movies are my ultimate guilty pleasure, and as a GOT fan, I'm surprised I hadn't heard of this one before.
Actors are good. Stanley Tucci always delivers. Natalie Dormer and Sam from GOT, and even Clive Standen are decent. The main character was a bit much for me, but still enjoyable.
Probably would've been better rated if it didn't try to be both funny/campy and serious. For a zombie film, the premise was pretty new and actually interesting. I love the idea, the execution could've been better (fixing a few plot holes), the pacing was rough (slowish start and abrupt end). Would've been better without the love quadrangle. The Colonel's weird crush had zero point, other than to make Natalie look like a strong woman, which she did on her own, and could've been written out without missing anything.
When I do my Halloween horror watch, I'm adding this to my list. Set up for a sequel, but unfortunately, I doubt it'll happen.
