Love this! Side bars tell the story of recipes of the developing west and what recipes were popular and explain access to limited ingredients shaped what became the “go to” favorites. Understanding operations from chuckwagon fare on cattle drives inspires appreciation of the pioneering spirit of the Old West. Every recipe I have done thus far has been a success. I believe this book would be a wonderful gift to our privileged youth not just for the recipes, but for this well written account by the author.
