Bertha Means

I thought brilliant—clever and funny with a good narrative; most enjoyable movie I’ve seen in a long while. Then again, i’m not a big Tarantino fan. Perhaps this was kind of tame, not what his fans expected.

I agree that this movie was pretty predictable, and I didn’t find it laugh-out-loud funny (although, seriously, this could be partially owing to my hearing. Still, I like the lead actresses so much (and felt I really hit the jackpot during the Thompson-Lithgow scene) that it felt worthwhile. And it did highlight important issues—not only minorities, but women v. women. Overall, this was an intelligent and likable film.
