Casting was good but I struggled to care in the end It just seemed to make a point of being a bit pointless. I took nothing away from watching it I did not get the bonding aspect and the need to be free as I was expecting, as has been done in other M/C films and was the point in real life clubs Watch it, you might feel differently, but I watched Easy Rider at the movies and Marlon Brando in the Wild Ones, even SOA recently I don’t compare this to any of those, unfortunately

I was pretty much with the opinion that this would not be as good without Sly I will admit though, this was good, entertaining and had a good emotional attachment as all Rocky films have One thing I feel could have made it better, Sly as the father figure and a touching grandfather to the deaf little girl I could not connect to her character enough unfortunately. Sly just would have brought the deeper, subtle emotional aspect that would have made this a great film, instead of good Well worth the watch regardless 👌

I read the book, 4 times. Excellent reading I have watched the original mini series in the 80’s, too many times to count So I have a bit of experience with this series I have only watched the first episode and I will watch the whole series, but I will say this, the impact is not as good as the OG series for an opener. I don’t feel the same awe as I should have. I don’t feel the distinction between the cultures as there should be. Casting so far, I love the actor that choose for Torenaga but everyone else has left me not feeling what was intended in the book, let alone the original series. Mariko in the original series, stunned you from the very moment she took the screen. Her grace, her style, her beauty but also her sense of what she must have been like in that time of Japan. America fell in love with her instantly. So far, I feel this actress is typical of modern Japan, but lacks the grace, charm, softness and quite strength as her counterpart embodied and the feeling of gentleness that was so much apart of the original actress I will watch in as this is one of my all time favorite books and I read all the great works of this amazing author Do yourself a huge favor and read the book, actually all his books and do watch the original series after this, because if you do before, it will make this series harder to watch I have hope that it gets better, but right now I am very disappointed but I have my fingers crossed for a series that took America by storm in the 80’s and opened up many to the culture of Japan 🤞
