This is quite an old-fashioned movie, liked it, revealing the characters throughout, slow paced, background score is great...mostly themed sad and sorrow. Even at the end, the smile of Peter, paradoxical. Was he intentional what did with Phil? Does he wanted to take revenge on Phil or get rid of him to ensure Rose lives happy? Do we get any answers for these questions from the original novel?
