Under the Queen's Umbrella is an outstanding master piece I ever watched and it is more way out of normal routing of historical K dramas. When I saw the drama's poster It reminded me the Jung Ok Jung in Dong Yi drama whom I never liked , but after watching many short clips I gradually became fond of the running queen.
Here in this drama queen Im is a wise and stunning queen who is wielding power next to the king and a compassionate loving mother not only to her children but also to the princes of other concubines. But that is not the case why I liked the Running queen a lot ,but because the character made me feel that Queens are also women, wives, mothers and also human. In most of the dramas the queens are like that they are not natural. Most of the queens out to be victims of power struggles or conspiring wicked women. Only a concubine from a lowly family out to be a natural woman at the end. But in this drama it is all the way out. The queen Im's character expresses the womanly power over all. The way how she solve problems wisely, how she loves her children and protect them, how she protects her daughter in-law, how she protects the child of her son born to a courtesan, how she handles the problem of her children who are having different desires and how she stand strong as a mountain before her loving family fighting her wicked mother-in-law is the most outstanding characteristics I found in the Running queen's character. Actually I am so obsessed with the character while watching the drama that my mind always said "she deserves the power" at all. At the moment I saw the scene which the Prince Simso is sheltered by the queen who is even neglected by her own mother at crown prince competition out of greed for power, why the drama's name is "Under the Queen's Umbrella". That was so adorable. However, at the end of the day every thing comes to it's rightful places and the drama ends without breaking our hearts but giving happy tears. I recommend everyone to watch the drama because it is a master piece.
