Disappointing is an understatement. Willem Dafoe had a few funny quips, and the costuming was delightful, but unfortunately, the film was rife with pedophilic piffle. It’s 2024; I’m wincing at how a script with the “Born-sexy-yesterday” trope was even greenlit in the first place, let alone up for numerous nominations. 🤢
