This historical fiction is heart wrenching, captivating and elicits all the human emotions. I am lost for words when I remember that this story I’m reading is the same or similar to stories lived by the hundreds of thousands in occupied Palestine. I cannot believe this is a lived reality of humanity. Great read, great history of Palestine and the occupation by ‘Israel’ over 4 generations of 1 family. The writing could have been better but I dealt with it bc the story was compelling. For example, some sentences were poorly written without thoughtfulness for the vocabulary used. Overall, I enjoyed the read and recommend!
