FAMILY GUY REVIEW
Age Recommendation: 16+
Family Guy originally first aired in 1999 on Fox, it only lasted a Season before it was cancelled due to unpopularity, and it’s huge similarities to another cartoon on Fox, The Simpsons. Fast Forward to today and the show now has a whopping 20 seasons, how did that happen you say? Well the show got a second chance on Cartoon Networks, Adult Swim and found a footing there, and since then gained a huge boost in popularity. Did the show deserve it, was it’s jokes quality or cringe, was it just a copy of The Simpsons, Well Let’s Find Out!
Family Guy starts us off with our main family roster, Peter Griffin a brainless idiot but caring father (in the early episodes), Lois Griffin, a naggy wife but means well to the family, Stewie Griffin, a evil mastermind baby, that can speak but no one understands him, or do they… Chris Griffin, a Peter Griffin Mini Me, but with his own personality traits like for his love of art. Meg Griffin Is your typical nerdy teenage girl, and finally last but definitely not least, Brian Griffin (my personal favorite character on the show). all of these characters have varying personalities and traits but they are not original in the slightest. All of the characters and traits are all Just clones of Simpsons Characters, Peter/Homer, Lois/Marge, Meg/Lisa. They are all very similar which gives it less points, and seeing other shows with the dis functional Family In mind, Bobs Burgers, King Of The Hill, Ect. All of those shows definitely have influence from The Simpsons but don’t copy it to Family Guys Level. But don’t get it misconscrewed Family Guy is nothing like The Simpsons when it comes to the Writing and Jokes. While The Simpsons Takes it safe with Family TVPG with its jokes and humor, Family Guy on the other hand is not scared to throw an edgy joke out there. Family Guys Supporting Characters are even funnier than the Main Family Guy cast. With the likes such as Quagmire, a perverted male who will go through many lengths just to get laid Mr. Hebert is the same case but with Chris… Adam West is also a great character, with his crazy dialogue. So I believe Family Guy succeeds at things The Simpsons does not succeed at. Being it’s more adult humor so I have to give it a Four Stars for succeeding very well it comedy that The Simpsons Just cannot replicate.
