I don’t often wake up in the morning and want to finish a movie that I didn’t finish the night before. Usually, I wait til the evening to finish it. Not this film. I woke up and had to see to the conclusion.It was really a very good film. The scenery was beautiful. The village was fascinating…the houses were unlike anything I was familiar with. Almost like huts. But the people were as normal and typical of any non small village type in the early 1900’s I found that really interesting. The story was a familiar one. Even still, I was invested in the characters . It’s definitely a worthwhile film to watch.

Excellent! I couldn’t stop watching. From the religious lifestyle to the relationships among the family it was a 👍🏼👍🏼. It was hard remembering that these were actors and not a reality tv show. That’s just how amazing the acting was.

Great show. Very disappointed in its ending. And very disappointed there was no 2nd season. Excellent cast

The original with Gabriel Byrne was excellent... And as much as I want to like this version I cannot get past thinking that Crazy eyes - Suzanne (Orange is the new a black ) will suddenly appear. Uzo Aduba seems very miscast ...But, with that said I am sticking with it. Also her character is very “over angst” , IMO. Interesting patients and beautiful house!

Very good story. Interesting storytelling…but a few questions. How did Peter, who was a privileged kid whose parents owned that home in the first summer end up being without money? Was the house in the second summer the original house rebuilt or a different house? What was Didiers profession? Why was Luk so much younger than the others in the second summer? Good series… recommend it

It was a bit confusing How and why did Jude and the granddaughter end up in Bangkok ? And did Franklin and Irene die and was that heaven? And who stabbed Byron Who were the people who took Cornelius ? 🤷🏼‍♀️

It had great potential… but the ending was absurd. It was a dreary and dark story. The younger sister was oblivious to her deed. Made no sense. And also made no sense that they see each other across a parking lot after 20 years and they embrace like it was a week ago. Should have been a mini series or a more in depth look at the characters. Didn’t explain how she ended up with the family she lived with and considered her family. I gave it 3 stars and I was being generous cause I like Sandra B.

I liked the movie but to fully follow i needed to read reviews.. its that kind of film

Unbelievable. Excellent. Has left me speechless in its brilliant depiction of slavery in America.

If ever a person deserves an award for a performance it’s Julia Roberts for this stunning and heart wrenching role. What a powerful story of what a persons addiction does to a family and community. Not a crier. But cried for these people. 👍🏼👍🏼.
