This was a very tiresome film. If you've read the novel, you'll be totally confused about most of the events which are seemingly randomly smashed together. Some of the characters are smash ups themselves of two characters in the novel. Uriah Heep seems to be about as likeable as Copperfield. The only thing that the movie agrees with the novel and the previous film adaptations is the cruelty of the Murdstones. I feel certain Charles Dickens would have walked out after about twenty minutes.
