It is not a bad book, but not great or “Insanely readable” per Steven King, according to the cover, let alone Jimmy Kimmel taking notes and praising it on his show. The plot line is dull and flaccid until the 250 page or so when it picks up and the reader can “guess” who is the “ bad guy” by the 100 - 150 page, although there is a twist at the end. The writing is a bit cliched with a lot of parentheses and even worse in the “novel” inside the novel, aka Crib. The writer also makes few irrelevant political references like she couldn’t resists to tell the reader her views which is redundant, because the novel is not political at all. Overall, not a bad book to kill a few hours on a plane or on a lazy afternoon, but hardly a “blockbuster”.
