Lifelong partridge fan and seen MMM and scissored isle too many times to remember. I think this time is brilliant but I do get where some less Alan obsessed viewers are coming from. It’s so intricate and woven into his timeline that I feel blessed that I know the character(s) so well - possibly if it’s all new it does seem just flat and unfunny especially if Mrs browns boys and mock the week is your thing. I’m hoping for a great arc to develop. I have faith in the Gibbons to surpass their previous, more intimate works.I imagine this is their first big TV gig. Let’s hope they deliver and don’t have to beg for a second series :)
