On Ep 15 now. Looks like the big hands won the girl. The hands that broke the name plate. The hands that punched his mentor. The big hand won over the hand that gave her comfort through letters, protecting her head, taking care of her plants, holding her shoes, stirring her noodles, practically protecting her in every step of the way, always making sure she won’t get hurt. That good boy is her sand box, for goodness sake! I think when the writer created this story, she wanted to make Start Up seems like fairytale, magical, fate, destiny, follow your dream, rainbow and whatnot kind of theme. The initial idea must be for Good Boy to be the instrument for Nam Do San and Seo Dal Mi to meet and later on act as ‘bug’ for the leads’ supposed love arc. But she didn’t expect ‘the bug’ she created would be this big. That bug is Good Boy Han Ji Pyeong. Good boy is sweeping hearts left and right, he’s done justice to the character. His acting performance is better than those two leads combined. People rooting more for Good Boy than the 1st lead. People can relate more to Good Boy and understand his feelings better than the leads. Of course I’m aware that rooting for 2nd lead will only cause me heartbreak later on. But my instinct tells me Han Ji Pyeong deserves all the love and praise❣️ Things like Reply 1988 where the 2nd lead wins rarely happens in KDrama. With Hallyu stars as the leads, they made Han Ji Pyeong character pathetic till the end. I’m so sick of Nam Do San and his “sailing without map” justification. Writer totally making him to follow the letters, hence to convince the audience for the justice of Nam Do San character. That’s cheating. He has no character development at all. He cheated in contest when he was young and he cheated again to get sympathy vote and Dal Mi’s love. But sorry, I won’t fall for that cheap trick. He’s not original. The real letter boy is selfless, practical, he suffered the most since young age, give more love to people who doesn’t even appreciate him at all - to the point that it’s killing him inside. I died thousand deaths with Good Boy in Ep 15. And when Dal Mi said to Do San “I don’t need a reason to like you. Because it’s YOU?!” I PAUSED. So cliche 🙄🙄🙄 To summarised, Dal Mi turned into an inconsiderate young lady, Nam Do San is one hella lucky guy with low self esteem and an obsessive fantasy for a girl he only knew for like what 8 months?(minus those 3 years he’s away) and Han Ji Pyeong is the true winner and free from this so called time wasting - love triangle. If you asked me, the only aspiring story from here is how an orphan turned into successful investor all on his own. You have done a good job, Kim Seon Ho! Keep on shining 🌟 P/S: Every OSTs reminded me of Han Ji Pyeong’s story line. One Day, Day and Night, Lonesome Diary, My Love. Every-Freaking-OSTs. I swear. Thought of giving this story 5 stars if the writer not taking an easy route. But for me, so far it’s only 2 stars.

The best Korean Drama ever created! Even in 2023, this is still #1 Kdrama to go in my list. From dimpled couple Kim Seon Ho and Shin Min Ah, beautiful seaside town and valuable life stories from supporting characters. This is a drama with good theatrical actors and actresses from small kids to grown men and women. Thank you for creating something so beautiful. I will cherish this drama everyday ♥️
