As a middle school teacher, I am always trying to find books that appeal to my students interests. This is the perfect book for young football/soccer fans! Many YA books feature a sport but focus more on interpersonal drama. I love that Layton actually spends most of the book developing tense moments ON THE PITCH. The Academy is the non-stop, action-packed book I needed to keep my soccer players hooked. (I was hooked as well) Thank you, T.Z. Layton!
