Alice Pomeroy

This book is very realistic and interesting from the first chapter. I read it to 5th graders and they really liked it since it is about a boy whose parents argue between themselves and decide to sent him to Grandmas, only to later decide to leave him with grandma. Totally suited for today's culture when so many grandparents are raising grandkid's.
