It's not high art, and it doesn't try to be. The performances are sincere, though, and it is sure to give you quite a few laughs. People shouldn't forget that it's based on a comedy from Shakespeare, in which the heroine of the play also pretends to be a man. I'm not quite sure why people can suspend their disbelief for The Bard, but not a silly teen movie.
