Paldea is such a dry and uninteresting place, the open world really turned the entire world into a tasteless soup of grass, rock, snow and slightly-more-animated 3D models. The gameplay is fun, the characters are great and the plot is decent, but I can't enjoy any of it at 15 frames and I certainly can't enjoy any of it when the world design is complete garbage. Two gyms in and exploration is already stale, uninspired and demotivating. But get resdy because thats what youll be spending 90% of yoyr time doing. Nothing seems to have explanation or deep and interesting lore, everything is there just because it is. Droves of wild pokemon waddle along aimlessly across seas of empty fields and its just a depressing sight to see. Long term Pokemon fan and progressively more saddened as each gen since the switch to 3d the regions become more and more boring.
