A better title would be “A Hidden Script”Terrence Malick puts all his energy in the on set imagery while totally ignoring the importance of a good script, a moving story line, character development and disciplined post production editing. I waited and waited for some thoughtful dialogue or self righteous declaration that never came. The most emotional scenes included dialogue in German without benefit of subtitles! My time would have been better spent viewing two and a half hours of random Getty Images on my TV, and I would not have wasted $20. uts little more than a visual Bavarian travelogue without the benefit of a guide.
