Tldr; Good game, looks stunning, good boss fights, though boss fights are rare until endgame.
Trek to Yomi is a great, cinematic Samurai game. The choice to make everything black and white and include the optional film grain truly makes every part of it delightfully atmospheric. The story leads you to see how your character has lived his life split between devotion to their duty, their love and themselves. It won't blow you away but it will keep you interested in the narrative.
The gameplay is tight, a good parry during combat has weight to it and the combos and executions you learn through out look nice and help greatly.
The bosses, when their are bosses, are a great challenge and usually take multiple attempts to learn their patterns and figure out what you're doing wrong during the fight.
Where the game disappoints is its minor lack of variety. There are only 4 or 5 executions which wear thin towards the end of the game and the bosses are rare to encounter. There are some mini bosses throughout the game, however, they can easily be taken down with a simple combo.
This doesn't bring the game down too much though, as with all the other aspects of the title it excels. Highly recommend if you're looking for something to keep you busy for around 5/6 hours.
