In short, if you haven’t got the game yet (it’s on sale at the minute) and you’re like me, never played a fromsoft/soulsbourne game, usually play games on easy or normal - I’d still 100% buy this game. One of the best I’ve ever played.
In a bit more detail;
I love open world RPG’s like Witcher 3, Red Dead etc. I put off getting Elden Ring for months when it first came out, I thought it would be too difficult and frustrating I’d end up giving up and whilst it’s definitely the most challenging game I’ve ever played it’s still accessible. It doesn’t hold your hand and doesn’t even really tell you where to go once out in the wilderness but it just makes exploring so much better and rewarding. In terms of bosses you can summon spirits/other players for help if you’re really stuck with a boss which can make it a lot easier and there’s so many guides and info on YouTube etc now and how to get OP early and where to go for a quest if you’re lost. Might not be the most traditional way of playing it but you’ve paid for it, you own it play how you want!
My first play through I explored everywhere (or so I thought!) and sunk well over 100 hours into it and still managed to completely miss an area, there is so much to do. I’ve completed it again twice since with different builds each time and I rarely go back to games - it’s one of the most replayable single player games I’ve ever played. I’ve missed loads no doubt but seriously if you’re on the fence but willing to invest a bit of time into it you will not be disappointed.
